CAR ENTHUSIASTS and industry experts are being invited to a college in Bracknell to discuss the benefits that electric vehicles have on the industry, car owners and the environment.

The topic will be explored during the Easter lecture at Bracknell and Wokingham college on Wednesday, April 10.

Industry expert, Director of Synergy Management Services Sir John Samuel will be the guest speaker at ‘The Exciting Road to Electric Cars’ talk.

Alex Warner, activate learning’s director of faculty of technology, said: “We’re delighted to be able to continue the Bracknell Easter Lecture tradition now that Bracknell and Wokingham College is part of our leading education group, Activate Learning."

The event provides an opportunity for local engineers and energy businesses to network and to meet students who are potential future employees.

Mr Warner, added: “The talk will appeal to anyone with an interest in engineering, science, energy and the environment, and we are very excited to welcome Sir John to our newest campus, and to cooperate with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (the IET) in presenting this important lecture.”

Car lovers will also have the chance to learn about the future of electric vehicles, including developments like the Jaguar I-Pace, which has just won 2019 Car of the Year Award.

The lecture will include ideas on how the industry should tackle current challenges such as energy storage, renewable power generation and reachability.

Attendees can also test sir John about his extensive car knowledge during a quiz.
