ASPIRING nursery practitioners in Sandhurst have been encouraged to aim for boss jobs as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

The apprentices at Greengables Day Nursery in Bracknell were also treated to gifts as part of the national celebrations and to say thank-you for their hard work.

Sian Elliott, the manager at the nursery believes they should want to apply for a job like hers.

She said: “I want all our apprentices to be ambitious about their careers with us and confident that our training and mentoring programmes will help them to develop, personally and professionally, within our organisation.”

The nursery want their apprentices deserve recognition for their invaluable contributions to working life. They include Molly Weisberg, Holly Flaherty, Rhiannon Hudson, Bekki Johnson, Verity White and Olivia Johnson-Ollive.

They all benefit from extra study time outside the nursery and a range of new training opportunities.

Ms Elliott added: “As employee owners, we are all invested in each other and ensuring that the children in our care receive the best possible start in life.

"Talented, skilled and ambitious young people on clearly defined career paths will get us there.”

Apprentice Rhiannon Hudson feels the nursery provides great support.

She said: “I love my job and I am happy and proud to be a member of this team. They have all supported and encouraged me in my studies and praised me when I have done well.”

Greengables Day Nursery is part of the award-winning, employee-owned, Childbase Partnership, which has 43-day nurseries that are mostly rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’.
