A CHARITY is calling for more volunteers to help collect donations for a very worthy cause.

Marie Curie, the UK leading charity supporting people with terminal illnesses, are launching their Great Daffodil Appeal on February 22.

The launch takes place at Tesco on Whitton Road in Bracknell and the charity is urging volunteers to come forward to help hand out pins to shoppers who donate.

Fiona Turner, community fundraiser for Berkshire, said: "Volunteering just two hours of your time at a collection near you means that you are raising money to help make sure more dying people get the care and support they need at the end of their lives.

"What is more, collecting is lots of fun and you can do it on your own or with friends and Marie Curie will support you from the moment you sign up."

The charity hope to raise just over £600 on both collection days.

March sees the charities annual fundraiser hoping to get more people than ever wearing a daffodil pin.

Fiona added: "This goes to helping support our local nursing service who care and support patients suffering from a terminal illness which costs the charity £20 per hour of nursing care.

"Our Great Daffodil appeal is our largest fundraiser and we have many collections happening all across the UK, from now through to April."
