TWO schoolboys have been arrested for racial abuse, possessing a firearm and assaulting an emergency worker.

Thames Valley Police were called to Vastern Road on February 18 following reports of two boys being abusive to a passerby near to the taxi rank and Reading train station.

At around 2.30pm, two 12-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated intentional harassment and assault for beating an emergency worker.

One of the boys was also arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.

They have both been released under investigation.
