POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a driver failed to stop when driving down the wrong side of the road.

On Tuesday, February 12 between 9.50am and 10am officers attempted to stop and search the driver of a blue BMW in Ralphes Ride, Bracknell.

The driver failed to stop and was driving in a dangerous manner, including being on the wrong side of a one-way road.

He was in involved in a near miss with an Audi Q7, which was being driven in the correct direction on Church Road.

Claire Morgan, designated investigator of Loddon Valley Investigation Hub, said: “We would really like to talk to the driver of the Audi involved in this incident on Tuesday morning in Church Road.

“The driver of this vehicle is not in any trouble but may have important information for investigators in this case as a witness.

“There also could be a number of vehicles in the area at the time with dash-cam footage of this incident.

“It was a busy time of day and the BMW involved in the incident was driven in Ralphes Ride, Broad Lane, Lilly Hill Drive, Harvest Ride, Long Hill Road and Church Road in Bracknell between 9.50am and 10am.”

An 18-year-old man from Sunbury-on-Thames was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug, possession of a class B drug and failing to stop for police.

He’s been released on police bail until Thursday, March 14.
