A SUSTAINABLE pop up store opened in Binfield to help reduce the need for single-use plastic.

The refill stall was available to the public on February 16, at Foxes Den Cafe in Binfield.

Customers got the chance to bring in their empty containers and refill them with hand soap, washing detergents, white wine vinegar and toilet cleaning products to eliminate the need for using single-use plastic.

Hannah Whiting, environment campaigner at Bracknell Less Plastic, said: "I was so impressed at the amount of people who were trying to change their bad plastic habits and even live completely plastic free.

"The event showed a huge demand from the local community, so we hope to adapt our pumping methods and try again soon."

The environmentalist explained that plastic 'will remain a constant in our lives' but we can reduce our single-use plastic intake.

The Bracknell Less Plastic group first started out in September 2018 and has since formed a strong group of people who care about the environment and want to make a difference to reducing plastic consumption.

However, the environmental group are also wanting to get keen volunteers to help raise awareness of schools, businesses and community groups can make a change.

The Fox Den cafe in Binfield has made steps towards this eco-change, making it the perfect venue to host a plastic free event.

Hannah added: "We thought it was going to be popular, but it really did exceed our expectations.

"We had queues for the entire two hours and were rushed off of our feet pumping detergents non-stop."
