BRACKNELL Forest Council have held a day of health and wellbeing as part of a nation-wide push to help people talk more openly about mental health.

The council partnered up with charities Sport in Mind and The Samaritans to join schools and members of the public to talk about mental health.

The conversations took place on Time to Talk day on Thursday, February 7.

Councillor Dale Birch, executive member for adult services, health and housing, said: “We took part in Time to Talk Day because mental health is a topic that we should all feel able to talk about.

“Improved education, lower crime, better physical health and economic prosperity all to some degree depend on positive mental well-being.”

The activities included sessions lead by Sport in Mind and Samaritans to raise awareness for mental health.
