HEAVY snowfall and freezing cold temperatures hit areas across Bracknell overnight - but how will the weather turn today? 

The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for more snow to fall later today, at around 11am. 

According to the weather forecast, there is a 60 per cent chance of light snow and ie across the south of the country until 3pm. 

An extra 5cm of snow is expected across some areas of the South East. 

Forecasters say an amber warning of snow will remaining in place until 11am, while temperatures could plummet to as low as -1 degrees. 

The Met Office have said: 

  • Travel delays on roads are likely, stranding some vehicles and passengers
  • Some delays and cancellations to rail are likely, and perhaps air travel
  • There is a good chance that some rural communities could become cut off
  • Power cuts are likely and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected

Today is said to be the final day of any snow, with temperatures increasing to 6 degrees during the course of next week.
