Bracknell URGENT care centre has been praised in its latest inspection by the health watchdog for its 'effectiveness of care'.

The Care Quality Commissions' (CQC) final report in October 2018 rated the centre, part of OnePrimaryCare, as 'Good'.

The report by the health inspectors rated the service as 'Good' in all five areas. Such as, are services safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

Inspectors in the report, said: 'There was a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement at all levels of the organisation'.

Melissa Parkes, manager at Bracknell Urgent Care Centre (BUCC), said: "We are really happy to have received such a positive response from the CQC.

"It is a testament to all the hard work from the team, and it sets a brilliant benchmark for us to continue to work from, to ensure we bring the best care to the community."

The report praised the efficiency of the BUCC, outlining that 'patients were able to access care and treatment from the service with an appropriate timescale for their needs'.

As well as this, the report said: "Staff involved and treated people with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect."

However, the review did find inconsistencies with how complaints were managed and verbal complaints were not documented which made it difficult for them to be included in any future reviews.

The facility has also been advised to improve reporting processes to enable incidents to be managed consistently.

Despite this, a recent Family and Friends test showed 86 per cent of patients would 'extremely likely' recommend Bracknell Urgent Care Centre to a friend or relative.

The remaining 14 per cent are only 'likely' to recommend.

The health facility helps patients with a variety of urgent, non-life threatening injuries and illnesses, ranging from sprains and fractures to rashes and sore throats.
