PRIMARY school student councillors spent the day visiting the council chamber earlier this month to learn about what the council does.
Bracknell Town Mayor Councillor Sandra Ingham greeted Harmans Water Primary School pupils and answered their questions.
On January 18, the pupils were given a presentation by Deputy Mayor Councillor Roger Meakes about what the council does.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Roger Meakes said: "It is my belief it is vital that our children are taught that we should always work in a fair and democratic way.
"From what I have heard from the children, that is exactly what is taking place in Bracknell schools today."
The children elected a chairperson from their group and held a mock meeting to understand what it is like to be a councillor.
They were then guided by the Deputy Mayor to come to a decision on the issues discussed.
