The following cases were heard at Reading and Slough Magistrates’ Court

January 7:

Samuel Oliver, 30, of no fixed abode, admitted to failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a supervision order, made after a period of imprisonment. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £30.

Sylwester Sadowski, 37, of Meadow Road, Wokingham, admitted to failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a community order. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay costs of £60.

George William John Hearn, 39, of Arncliffe, Bracknell, admitted to driving while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence. He was committed to prison for eight weeks, suspended for 12 months. He had his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points and he was ordered to pay costs totalling £200.

Michael Gore, 19, of Reynolds Green, Sandhurst, admitted to drink driving and was fined £200. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months and ordered to pay costs totalling £115.

Shaun Wanklyn, 29, of Warren Lane, Finchampstead, admitted to drink driving and was fined £700. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months and ordered to pay costs totalling £155.

Emma Alexandria Weaver, 28, of no fixed abode, admitted to theft from a shop at Boots, The Lexicon, namely stealing perfume to the value of £169. She was fined £80 and ordered to pay a surcharge £30.

January 8:

Mohammed Shayan Tahir, 33, of Davy Close, Wokingham, admitted to speeding and was fined £100. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £30.

Danny Albert Walker, 28, of Threshfield, Bracknell, admitted to causing criminal damage to property valued under £5,000. A community order was made and he must take part in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 20 days. He was ordered to pay compensation of £360 and a surcharge of £85.

January 9:

Charlotte Elizabeth Last, 27, of Nell Gwynne Avenue, Ascot, admitted to drink driving and failing to comply with lane closure light signals. She was fined £80 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months. She was also ordered to pay costs totalling £115.

January 11:

Rohan Thompson, 49, of Lovel Lane, Winkfield, admitted to drink driving and was fined £540. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months and was ordered to pay costs totalling £189.

Anthony O’Donnell, 20, of Shakespeare Avenue, Hayes, admitted to theft from a shop, namely stealing a Fluval Flex fish tank belonging to Pets at Home in Finchampstead, to the value of £150. A community order was made he must take part in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 10 days. He must carry out 40 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and he was ordered to pay costs totalling £115.

Jake Murray, 28, of Wren Way, Farnborough, admitted to possession of controlled drug of Class B, namely ketamine, in Wokingham. A community order was made he must take part in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 10 days. He must carry out 240 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and he was ordered to pay costs totalling £170.

Paul Anthony Sanchez, 29, of Ashville Way, Wokingham, was proven in his absence to have travelled on the railway without paying a fare. He was fined £250 and costs totalling £190. He also had to pay compensation of £3.40.

Adam McKeith, 27, of Rowley Close, Bracknell, admitted to drink driving and was fined £120. He was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 36 months and ordered to pay costs totalling £115.

A fundamental principle of justice is that it must be seen to be done. This principle of open justice is acclaimed on a number of grounds: as a safeguard against judicial error, as a deterrent to perjury, to assist the deterrent function of criminal trials and to permit the revelation of matters of public interest.
