A £300k water project is entering its final stages of completion, installing a complex water pipe system in Woosehill, Wokingham.

South East Water has spent time upgrading more than a kilometers of its network to supply 'crystal-clear' drinking water to customers.

Jeremy Dufour, South East Water project manager said: "We are please with the progress we have made on this project and we are still working three weeks ahead of our planned schedule.

"However, following the installation of the new pipeline it has become clear that further work is required to the road surface on Woosehill Spine Road before the project can fully complete."

Temporary traffic lights will be installed on Wednesday, January 23 and will be in place for approximately three days while works are carried out by the water company.

The first set of temporary lights will be installed in Woosehill Spine Road, between the Heron Road and North Way junctions.

Once the first set of works are complete, three-way lights will be relocated close to the junction of Woosehill Spine Road and Dorset Way

All lights will either be manually controlled or removed at peak traffic times.

Jeremy added: "We are deeply sorry for the disruption these temporary traffic lights may cause, however the safety of residents and motorists is paramount while we undertake this work."

The project has seen the company replace and old and burst-prone water main which caused customer in the area to go without drinking water while repairs are undergoing.

This also forms part of South East Water's £424 million investment into its water networks between 2015 and 2020.
