NURSERY CHILDREN from Bracknell have been taking part in cooking sessions, which teach them about Bulgarian traditions.
The children from the Bright Horizons Forest Park Bracknell Day Nursery and Preschool in Winkfield have been taking part in the educational sessions.
During the lessons they were shown how to make bread from scratch, the participating pre-school children placed a coin into the dough they baked. In Bulgaria the coin traditionally symbolises that the receiver will have good luck for the year ahead.
Laura Gardner, deputy nursery manager said: “Once baked you all pull a piece of the bread and whoever has the coin in their piece of bread has luck for the New Year.
“The children loved helping to make the bread.”
Bright Horizons provides young children with care and education and own over 300 nurseries across the UK, for more information visit: https://www.brighthorizons.co.uk/.
