The following cases were heard at Reading and Slough Magistrates’ Court

December 12

Dylan Lucanus Augustus, 25, of Beatty Rise, Spencers Wood, admitted to drink-driving and speeding. He was fined £200 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 22 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £30.

James Christopher Snape, 28, of Brooke Place, Binfield, admitted to assault by beating and received a community order. He must take part in a Programme Requirement for 30 days and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 15 days. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £85.

December 13

Ben Baldwin, 52, of Buttenshaw Avenue, Arborfield, denied speeding and was convicted. He was fined £400 and had his driving licence endorsed with three penalty points. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £40.

John Coyle, 29, of Carters Hill Park, Binfield, admitted to using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance and driving while disqualified. He was committed to prison for four weeks, suspended for 18 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £115.

December 14

William Hall, 23, of Long Mickle, Sandhurst, admitted to two counts of drug driving. He was fined £150 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £30.

Eric George Wilkinson, 64, of Branksome Hill, Sandhurst, denied causing criminal damage to property valued under £5,000, namely a BMW 420, and was found guilty. He also admitted to driving a vehicle without due care and attention. He was fined £50 and received a community order. He must take part in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 20 days. His driving licence was endorsed with seven penalty points and he was ordered to pay costs totalling £170.

Robert James Mitchell, 35, of Hillberry, Bracknell, admitted to one count of assault by beating and denied another count of the same charge. He also admitted to two additional counts of assault by beating and causing criminal damage to property valued under £5,000. He was found guilty and committed to prison for a total of 26 weeks. The offence was deemed to be particularly serious as it was committed while the defendant was on bail. He was fined £250 and was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £115.

December 17

Balwinder Singh, 37, of Hanwood Close, Woodley, denied assault by beating and was found guilty. He received a community order and will be required to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. A restraining order was issued by the court and the defendant was ordered to pay costs of £700. He must also pay compensation of £100 and a surcharge of £85.

Paul Lotz, 53, of Charters Road, Sunningdale, denied failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver/rider of a vehicle when required. He was found guilty and fined £230. He had his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points and was ordered to pay costs of £650 and a surcharge of £30.

December 18

Liam Alan Turton, 28, of Broad Street, Wokingham, admitted to assault by beating and was committed to prison for a total of 24 weeks. The offence was deemed to be aggravated as the defendant was committed during the operation of a community sentence and because it was committed on a pregnant woman in a public place. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £115.
