A COMMUNITY-BASED wind band from Wokingham and Reading will be returning to All Saints Church later this year.

The Trinity Concert Band will be appearing at the All Saints Church in Wokingham on Saturday March, 16.

The community-based band were awarded the top platinum award in the finals of the National Concert Band Festival in April last year.

Paul Speed, Trinity Concert Band musical director said: ”Following on from our success at the National Concert Band Festival last year, we're looking to expand our presence within the wider community.”

The concert will also include a musical performance from vocal duet Indigo May, who were formally part of The Swingle Singers and performers on P&O and Cunard cruise lines.

The band, along with the special guests will perform a range of music including Bring Him Home, West Side Story and All By Myself.

Paul added: “Wind bands are generally less well-known amongst musical groups, but our performances offer the same energy and excitement as that of orchestras and brass bands.”

The wind band will use the concert as a chance to celebrate St Patrick’s Day by performing a series of Celtic songs to the community.
