A BURGER from the popular fast-food chain McDonald's appeared to have a caterpillar in it after a customer discovered the creature as he was biting into his Big Mac.

Brandon Carrington, a student from Bracknell and Wokingham College posted a video of his meal on a Facebook group with the camera zoomed in on the creepy crawly smothered in burger sauce.

Bracknell News:

He returned his meal straight away and staff at the new McDonald's at The Lexicon offered a replacement meal however he 'declined' it after being put off by the one he just ate.

A McDonald's spokesperson said: "The customer returned their burger at the time for examination - we apoligised and offered them a full refund and a replacement, the replacement was declined.

"We are sorry to hear about this customer's experience. Food quality and safety are of the utmost importance to us and we place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards in order to avoid any imperfections."

On Sunday, December 30 the customer visited the new McDonald's at The Lexicon and was horrified to discover his burger had a maggot like thing in it.

The restuarant chain opened its doors on December 17 however people on the Facebook post have posted that standards are poor and service hasn't been the best.
