THE WOKINGHAM Borough Mayor has joined local students at their annual Christmas carol concert.

The annual Christmas carol concert was held at Arborfield Green Leisure Centre in Reading on Sunday, December 9.

A total of 400 voices performed festive songs and carols including ‘We Three Kings’ and ‘No Room and the Inn’. 19 of these voices where pupils from across the Borough of Wokingham.

Wokingham Borough Mayor John Kaiser said: “I’d like to thank all the children, their families and teachers, for their efforts this year.”

This year the Christmas concert was raising money for the Me2Club charity, which helps children and young people with additional needs and disabilities take part in mainstream activities and clubs.

Cllr Kaiser added: “I’d also like to thank the Berkshire Maestros Orchestra, for its continued support and outstanding musical performance. Lastly, I’d like to thank all the guests for their generosity. The Me2Club charity is very close to my heart and I’m thrilled for it to be able to benefit from the concert.”

The concert managed to raise a total of £3,500 to be given to the charity.
