A LOVELY little girl has made her Christmas wish come true by donating food and presents for dogs at Binfield Dog Rescue.

Kaycie, who is eight-years-old, wanted to rescue a dog after forming a close bond with them while volunteering on the weekends.

The family from Great Hollands in Bracknell already have three dogs and two Guinea pigs so her mum sadly couldn’t rehome another pet.

Claire Carpenter, Kaycie’s mother said: “She woke up one morning and had the idea to buy Christmas presents for all of the dogs at the rescue centre.”

The schoolgirl spent six weeks collecting dog treats, food and toys with her own pocket money and accepted anonymous donations after her mum posted on Facebook.

Claire said: “She’s only eight-years-old so it is amazing she has done this purely off her own back.

“We’re so proud of her and she has a heart of gold. She’s just the kind of person we need in this world.”

Her two sisters Makayla who is 11 and Maisy, aged nine also helped collect Christmas presents for the dogs.

The Binfield Dog Rescue welcomed the gifts and the Kaycie managed to collect a whole trolley full of dog food, bowls, treats and toys.

Claire thinks her daughter will one day become a volunteer or vet because she loves animals so much.

She added: “She’s so kind and caring and loves animals so much to the point that she doesn’t even eat meat.”

Kaycie plans to collect donations for the rescue centre on a permanent basis.
