WOKINGHAM Borough Council have launched a new Facebook page in order to keep residents updated about roadworks.

The ‘Wokingham Borough Council Traffic & Travel’ page has been designed to keep residents up to speed with roadworks around the borough.

The page updates followers on planned emergency works, allowing them to plan routes in advance.

Councillor Anthony Pollock, executive member for Highways and Transport said: “We are keen to continue to improve communication with residents by using social media and want to ensure that residents hear as much as possible.

“We hope our new Facebook page, as well as other tools already currently available to residents such as roadwork.org, will make our residents’ daily commute a little easier when it comes to planning their journeys, allowing them to seek alternative routes in advance.”

The new page is up and running and can be found by searching 'Wokingham Borough Council Traffic & Travel’ on Facebook.
