BOXING Supremo Frank Warren has organised a live military boxing night to help a charity raise money for a fatal skin condition

The hall of fame boxing manager Frank Warren, set up and hosted a night of live boxing to raise money for the Berkshire based charity DEBRA. The event took place at the luxurious Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, London.

DEBRA, in Crowthorne is the only national charity that supports people who suffer from the potentially fatal skin blistering condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

The night showcased Military Boxing, with boxers both from the British Army and the Royal Navy, all organised by the UK Armed Forces Boxing Association.

Hugh Thompson, DEBRA’s Director of Fundraising and Communications, said: “DEBRA works in partnership with the NHS to fund specialist EB nurses – this money will enable us to fund the nursing team at Great Ormond Street who look after children with EB from southern England.”

Frank Warren added: “I got involved with DEBRA after meeting a wonderful young man called Jonny Kennedy, who had EB. I wanted to commemorate his life and raise funds to help suffers of this terrible skin condition.”

Other guests who made an appearance included former members of the British Army the Chelsea Pensioners and Jimmy McGhie, Comedy Store performer and stand-up comedian.

The Fight Night also had a charity auction, which was run by Charles Ross the presenter of Bargain Hunt.
