THERE will be free parking in Wokingham car parks for shoppers to enjoy on the run up to Christmas.
Wokingham Borough Council has announced free parking in car parks on the three Saturdays that run up to Christmas day.
Council-owned town and village centre car parks will all be offering free parking all day on December 8, 15 and 22.
Councillor Anthony Pollock, executive member for Highways and Transport, said: “I hope that this can give people a good incentive to visit the array of wonderful shops during the festive period here in Wokingham Borough.”
The idea is to encourage residents to make more use of their local shopping areas.
Maximum stay limits and disabled parking bays will still be enforced by the council during all three Saturdays.
The free of charge parking will include car parks on Denmark Street, Rose Street and Shute End.
