GENEROUS brothers are hoping to make Christmas special for less-fortunate families, despite having one of their collection boxes stolen.

Tobias, 10 and Thomas, eight, recently collected for Woodley Foodbank as part of their school harvest festival.

They are now doing another collection for the festive season, but have had their efforts set back by heartless thieves.

Mother Katie Smith said: "Again the Woodley community have been generous and so enthusiastic about the boys collection.

"Sadly, someone stole the collection box outside our home. Luckily, we have the majority of donations boxed up indoors so the thief only got away with a few items.

"We have now put out another box. The boys want to know that every local child has an Advent calendar, just like them.

"They have been out posting letters to our local neighbours."
