IT is all change at Binfield Parish Council (BPC) as the authority has unveiled a new building, logo and website.

To mark all of this, a celebration event is being held in conjunction with The Foxes' Den at the new parish office on Monday, December 3.

Residents are invited to join councillor Steve Collett, chairman of the council, from 6pm, to see the building opened.

This will then be followed by the switch-on of the Christmas lights and refreshments at The Foxes' Den Community Café.

It was recognised in 2015 that the parish council was outgrowing its premises, based in Foxley Fields and an extension was planned.

At the same time, there was evidence that community facilities across the parish were not sufficient to meet the needs of the growing community so as well as expanded office space, a new community café and a bigger car park were also planned.

Work started in early 2018 and residents can return to the newly-extended parish office from Monday, November 26.

The new building offers much more space for members of the public to attend meetings and find out what local councillors are working on.

Alongside the extra space for the Parish Council, a new community café will be opening, operated by new tenants.

The Foxes’ Den, a community interest company run by two residents, will be serving up tea, coffee, snacks, cake & community activities.

As well as the community café the new parish office will have well appointed meeting rooms to let to groups and organisations.

The building has been funded in the main by Binfield Parish Council through reserve funds, as well as community infrastructure levy funds.

In addition, Bracknell Forest Council supplied £66,000 through S106 funds and an Awards for All Grant of £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund was also used.

All of the core elements of the old council logo have been retained, but the updated version has been used to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Binfield CE Primary School.

The new website: www.binfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk launched to residents earlier this month.
