A THEATRE company has raised a stunning some of money for three good causes following their latest five-star production.

Reading Between the Lines (RBL) Theatre Company teamed up with Launchpad Reading, First Days Children's Charity and Reading Minster and collected more than £4,700 thanks to bucket collections.

Toby Davies, co-founder, said: "RBL Theatre Company was formed to encourage communities to come together and so we are delighted to support local charities."

Funds will be shared evenly between the charities, which includes the church that played host to the three-week production of Henry II.

The reverend Judith Sumner, from Reading Minster, added: "This money will be used to support Reading Minster in continuing outreach, providing a warm welcome to all, serving the community of Reading and beyond, though our worship events and our social action using the skills and talents of people who are the Minster community."

The money donated to Launchpad Reading will help change lives by tackling homelessness and rough sleeping across the town.

First Days Children's Charity hopes to use the funds to help run its referral service and support more than 100 children across Berkshire each month.

Following the huge success of Henry II, the final instalment in the epic 'Conquerors Trilogy', RBL Theatre Company is moving onto their next production of 'A Christmas Carol' at South Street Arts Centre (December 10-30).

RBL Theatre Company is also hoping to hear from businesses and individuals, who may be interested in getting behind a recently-launched programmed for state-funded schools.

Dani Davies, co-founder, added: "Seeing shows at school was what started my love of theatre. We really want local kids to experience exciting theatre here in Reading this Christmas."

It costs just £12 to sponsor a child to see the performance. If you would like to help RBL welcome as many children as possible to the theatre this Christmas, then you can donate online.
