THREE parks in Winkfield have been officially recognised as among the best in the country.

Carnation Hall Grounds, Locks Ride Recreation Ground, and for the first time, Allsmoor Field have all been awarded Green Flag status, meaning that the sites are among the best in the UK.

The Carnation Hall Grounds retained its award for the 11th successive year, while Locks Ride kept its title for the seventh year in a row.

Winkfield Parish Council (WPC) has said how proud it is to have not one but three grounds awarded the prestigious title.

A parish council spokesman said: "These awards are a testament to the dedication of our fantastic Grounds Staff who work tirelessly to maintain high standards across all our recreation areas. It is WPCs aim to achieve Green Flag Status for all its larger sites."
