A CHILDREN'S charity celebrated the young people it supports with a special celebration in Wokingham.
Barnardo's held a fun day at High Close School, in Wiltshire Road, for families and young people from across the South East and Anglia regions, alongside staff and volunteers, to recognise the achievements of the charity and the young people it helps.
Guests took part in a variety of activities, including circus skills, graffiti art, rap workshops, street dance, before the day culminated in a prize-giving ceremony.
The charity's Chief Executive Javed Khan attended the celebration and presented the youngsters with certificates. Awards were presented to those who displayed, among other attributes, a positive attitude and perseverance.
Barnardo’s South East and Anglia Regional Director Jonathan Whalley said: “This was a fantastic day which was enjoyed by everyone who attended. The sun was out and it was a pleasure to see the smiles on everyone’s faces.
"I know that a lot of hard work went on behind the scenes but it was really was an excellent celebration of all of the good work that Barnardo’s does in the region and a lovely way to recognise the courage and determination shown by our young people.”
