A CHILDREN'S author opened the new library at the Marist School.

Jason Beresford, writer of 'The Fabulous Four Fish Fingers' and 'Frozen Fish Fingers', two comedy children's books about a gang of superhero kids, came to the school in Ascot to open up the new 'Enchanted Woodland' library.

The library at the school has been redesigned and created as an enchanted woodland, giving the students the feeling that they are reading through different periods in time.

Mr Beresford gave a talk to the children about his life as an author, before giving a reading from one of his books, as he officially opened the new library.

Mrs Jane Gow, Vice Principal at The Marist School, said: “We are very excited that Jason Beresford has officially unveiled our new library today. It offers the girls an environment of peace and tranquillity and gives them the space to explore reading both in a group environment and individually.”
