TWO fundraisers have made a splash by swimming more than 90 lengths for charity.

Angie Mycock, former Scheme Manager and one of the founders of Home-Start Wokingham, and Amanda Morgan, a long-serving volunteer, took to the 18m lanes at Nirvana Spa, in Mole Road, Sindlesham, last month to raise more than £1,000 for the charity, which supports struggling families throughout Wokingham borough.

The charity currently supports 67 families, 23 of whom attend the charity's group sessions in Winnersh, and 53 volunteers visit families in their own home.

Angie and Amanda completed 92 lengths of the pool, raising more than £1,100 for the charity.

Angie said: "We found it hard to swim for that long but we chatted as we went along and had Michelle who checked that we did the correct lengths to motivate and encourage us. We felt really satisfied and pleased that we achieved it and very proud of the amount we raised for such a worthy cause."

The charity is currently recruiting for a new Scheme Manager. For more details, visit https://home-startwd.org.uk.
