THE Duke of Edinburgh has been released from hospital following his planned hip surgery last week.
Prince Philip underwent the operation on Wednesday, April 4 at the King Edward VII in London.
The 96-year-old Prince waved to onlookers as he was driven away from hospital to Buckingham Palace, where he will continue his recovery.
A statement released by the palace said: "His Royal Highness would like to convey his appreciation for the messages of good wishes he has received."
