POLICE are appealing for witnesses after intruders armed with tools tried to break into a property in Warfield.

Between midnight and 11.30am on Tuesday, April 10, an unknown number of offenders scaled the entrance gates to a property in Malt Hill, before attempting to break into the house using a bladed tool.

The intruders tried to force open a rear ground floor door, causing damage to both the door and the frame, but were not able to break in and nothing was stolen.

Investigating officer PC Naomi Jolliffe said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any information to call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101, quoting reference 43180106527."
