A COUPLE from Binfield say that the secret to their long and happy marriage is enjoying each other’s company.
Joyce and Bernard Holmes, who are 86 and 89 respectively, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on Monday, March 19 with a meal at The Shepherd’s House in Warfield.
Surrounded by friends, Mr and Mrs Joyce, who married in 1955 and have two children and three grandchildren, toasted their happy years together.
Joyce said: “We moved to Binfield 24 years ago from Harlington in Middlesex, and we joined Bracknell Bowling Club which has kept us very sociable.
“We met in 1951 at a ballroom and we just enjoy each other’s company.
“We go out for meals and enjoy short walks together, I think it is important that you spend time together as a couple.”
