A PAIR of chefs from a Wokingham pub have been crowned as finalists in a pie competition. 

Lili Collier and Sereen Fellani, from the Broad Street Tavern, have had their 'Cheeky Blinder' pie nominated as one of the pies of the year. 

The 12th annual Wadworth pie competition crowns the best pie served at one of the chain's pubs throughout the country. 

Broad Street Tavern's entry, the 'Cheeky Blinder', featured ox cheek, curry sauce, potatoes, peas, green and red peppers, onions, chillies and spices, and is served with a puff pastry lid, chips and peas.

Lili Collier from Broad Street Tavern, said: “We are really proud to have been chosen as a finalist and to be representing Broad Street Tavern in Wadworth’s 12th annual pie competition.  

"Congratulations to the other finalists and overall winner.”

The overall winner, a pie from Avon Causeway chef Jake McBride, who created a pork, chorizo and sunblush pie.
