THE NEW town centre has been visited more than three million times since The Lexicon opened in September.
In comparison, 820,000 visits to Bracknell town centre were recorded for the same nine-week period last year.
Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon says: “We would like to thank everyone for their terrific support of the new town centre. We are predicting a visitor figure of 14 million during our first year, and these first figures put us right on track to achieve this.
“Retailer interest in The Lexicon remains buoyant and we hope to be able to announce some more lettings this side of Christmas.
“We have a fabulous programme of entertainment in place for the festive period, and look forward to welcoming new and old customers in the run-up to Christmas.”
These figures are likely to increase with the introduction of new stores next year which include TGI Friday and Jack Wills.
Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration, said: “The Lexicon has provided our residents, business and visitors with the town centre they have wanted for many years.
“To have three million people visit in the first nine weeks is really great news and a testament to its popularity. I’m sure as we head towards Christmas even more people will visit to take advantage of the wonderful retail, entertainment and shopping facilities The Lexicon offers.”
