ADORABLE kittens who ended up trapped in a car travelling from mainland Europe are left with a race against time to be rescued.
The three pets, named Edam, Gouda, and Tulip, found their way into a vehicle engine and hitched a ride from The Netherlands to Bracknell.
The family driving the car had no clue that the animals were inside the motor and only discovered when they parked up in Bracknell and heard meowing.
The kittens are in quarantine due to the nature of the journey and the fact they have come from abroad.
Now the Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre (DBARC) has to raise money for their release and return.
The price to pay is a whopping £3,000, leading the centre to set up a fundraising page to save the lives of the purry pets, who will be put to sleep if the costs are not met.
At the time of writing, 87 per cent of the funds have been raised, thanks to the kindness of the general public.
A mighty £2,635.50 has been found to pay for the quarantine bill so far.
