SUPPORT for primary schools to get kids active and eating healthily is being rolled out by a new start-up company.

Active Cubs has just launched its ‘School of Excellence’ initiative which has been designed to support primary schools in key areas such as physical activity, healthy eating, and emotional health and wellbeing.

Although the Active Cubs team have global aspirations of one day becoming the world’s number one health and fitness brand for under 11s, their first goal is to focus on helping all of the primary schools in the Bracknell Forest area encourage their pupils to become the most physically active in the UK.

The first school in Bracknell to sign up to the free programme was St Michael's Easthampstead C of E Primary School.

Stefanie Beamish-Pena, PE and science coordinator, said: “It’s vitally important that we as teachers must do all we can to help encourage and motivate our pupils to fulfil their health potential and the initiative is a great way to help us achieve that goal.”

Co-founder of Active Cubs Joel James, added: “It was fantastic to see so many children get really enthusiastic during the Q&A session in assembly regarding health and fitness topics, and I was equally impressed on how the teachers at St Michael’s Easthampstead Primary School are really committed to supporting their pupils to become physically active on a daily basis. ”

If you are a Bracknell Forest Primary School and would like to register your school to become an Active Cubs School of Excellence, please register your interest before March 29 to receive your free fitness goody bag worth over £250.
