VIOLENT winds battered the town today, bringing down a tree onto a house and uprooting several others.
Storm Doris ripped through the country, with gusts of up to 95 mph reported in some parts of the nation.
At around 1.20pm on Thursday, February 23 a tree fell onto a house in Waterham Road, but fortunately nobody was harmed.
“We were called at around 1.17pm to reports of a fallen tree,” a spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said. “It was reported that the tree was resting on three house roofs and another tree.
“The incident was dealt with by the fire service.”
A spokesman for Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said a tree surgeon was sent to the scene.
A resident living in Waterham Road told the News: “I didn't hear anything, but police blocked off the road for about an hour when it happened. There weren't any emergency services here.”
Thames Valley Police Bracknell tweeted a picture of a fallen tree from the Straight Mile to the junction with Broadcommon Lane and advised members of the public to take alternative routes.

A spokesman from the force said they were experiencing a higher number of calls than usual and advised everyone to only make 999 calls in a genuine emergency.
