A BUILDER from Bracknell has shown 'considerable remorse' after being charged nearly £900 for dumping waste in a quiet country lane.

A bucket and box full of building waste was tracked back to Oxenhope resident Robin Frederick Cole by an investigator after he illegally dumped it at the side of Allerds Road, Burnham, just minutes away from a waste recycling centre in Crow Piece Road

The 53-year-old admitted the offence after being traced by the Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire, saying it was a one-off incident and he had acted on impulse on October 2, 2015.

Appearing at Wycombe Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Cole was fined £585 and ordered to pay £253.60 in clean up and prosecution costs.
A victim surcharge of £58 pushed the final tally to £896.30.

Cole adds to the 509-strong list of people and companies convicted for illegal dumping following an investigation by the Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire.

Their ‘Illegal Dumping Costs’ campaign began in October 2003 to combat illegal dumping and waste management offences in the county and has seen the reporting of dumping incidents halve and more than £1m saved for the county council.
