A NEW playground at a Bracknell nursery will make a 'massive difference' to children's lives after being installed over the summer.

The new play area at Little Acorns Nursery in Priestwood was officially opened by the Mayor Cllr Dee Hamilton last Friday after the run down garden was transformed by the council's parks team.

With a climbing frame, slides and a new garden, the children have 'loved' playing in it according to Michelle Tuddenham who helps run the nursery.

She said: "The playgorund will make a massive difference. Many of our children who attend the nursery live in flats and so this will give them the outdoor space to explore and enjoy themselves.

"It's a climbing frame designed for early years and lots and lots of different parts and a little garden. They've been playing in it since September, at the moment we have 32 children, and they all love it.

Bracknell News:

The funds to build the play area came from a pot controlled by Cllr Kirsten Miller, of Bullbrook ward, and it's a donation the Little Acorns are very grateful for.

Ms Tuddenham said: "It would have taken us a long, long time to raise the money ourselves. It was a really, really run down garden, it used to be the Guide's hut and they just let it go completely.

"We're doing our best to upgrade the whole place to make it somewhere children can come and spend some time in a safe place."
