A BLAZE in a derelict Bracknell care centre is being treated as arson.
Fire crews spent an hour battling a fire at the abandoned building on Wildridings Road last night.
Teams from Bracknell, Wokingham and Ascot fire stations were called to the former Downside Resource Centre at 9pm on Sunday, September 27.
David Crookhall, a firefighter at the Bracknell station said people had been living in the disused building on and off since it was locked in 2010.
He said: "We used breathing apparatus to put the fire out. There was quite a lot of fire damage around a doorway.
"Thankfully there was no one inside."
The police were called to the scene and the two authorities are now investigating the incident, which is being treated as an arson attack.
