A meeting of the South Wokingham Community Forum will be held at St Crispin’s School in London Road this evening, giving attendees the chance to hear the latest updates. The meeting will run from 7.00pm to 8.45pm.
A consultation was held last year to help the borough council decide the route of the distributor road, which will run from London Road near Coppid Beech Roundabout to the Finchampstead Road near Tesco’s.
A section of the road in Montague Park is already built and will run over a bridge, across the railway.
Most residents responding to the consultation approved of a route running through the new housing areas.
However, some residents highlighted specific concerns over the details of the route, and feasibility work is now on-going to mitigate these concerns.
The community forum meeting was also a chance for residents to suggest topics and issues they would like to see discussed further at future meetings throughout the year.
