FANTASTIC floral arrangements from Bracknell In Bloom were judged by the Royal Horticultural Society last Thursday.

National judges for the RHS Britain In Bloom visited the town to consider Bracknell's offering - which is representing Thames and Chilterns in the 'Small City' category.

Roger Burnett and Kim Parish were given a short presentation highlighting all the work that goes on throughout the year.

They were then taken on a three-hour tour of the town which started in the town centre and finished at South Hill Park, in Ringmead, Birch Hill.

Other stops along the way included Tom Henry's front garden in Priestwood, Sandy Lane Primary School, Anneforde Place allotments, Jocks Lane Park, Arlington Square, Wroxham Community Gardens in Great Hollands, St Michael and St Mary Magdalene churchyard and Waitrose, in Bond Way. After the tour, Bracknell In Bloom supporters got the opportunity to chat to the judges during tea and explain why they are passionate about horticulture.

Mr Burnett, chairman of the RHS Britain In Bloom UK judging panel, said: "The partnership work that is being done for Bracknell in Bloom is really fantastic; today's real winners are the people that live and work in Bracknell. "
