Hollywood on the inside

Self improvement is my number one thing! I always want to be better... Hey, I like to fix things! I believe in leaving people and places better than you found them.

It all started when I got hooked on motivational speaking tapes back in 2003 and I will always remember one important titbit - "Stand on the shoulders of those that came before you." I took this on board with a vengeance; it made sense to me. A turning point.

I started to do copious amounts of research. Who did I admire? How was I going to shape my life?

I found any information I could about the actresses and singers that I wanted to be like and before I knew it, I had files and files of newspaper cuttings, interviews and images. It was from there that the Victoria Summer 'brand' was born and well, I'm still perfecting it. Every day.

Who do I admire? Well, probably real life angels the most - I've even managed to find quite a few here in Los Angeles. I figure if I surround myself with angels, that's my best chance of becoming one.

The actress however, at the forefront of my mind when it comes to epitomising style and grace is of course humanitarian, mother and fashion icon the lovely Audrey Hepburn. Now, who wouldn't want to be like her?

She's an angelic inspiration not only to me, but to many. A timeless icon of elegance and sophistication. She didn't follow the trends, she led by example and remained unruffled through many a storm.

She sought to balance career and motherhood and remained immaculate, always polite and incredibly well spoken. She was as real as the girl next door. Only smarter.

To conclude I will say, that Hollywood's trashy starlets could definitely save themselves from further disgrace by following in the steps of the lovely Audrey.

Till next time, Darling.
