It is the fifth year in a row organisers Sarah McAllister and Deborah James have run the event, which will be officially opened at a private viewing on Friday, April 25, by Sir John Madejski.

Doubling in size since it was launched, the fair has established a reputation for hosting internationally renowned artists and up-and-coming stars. It is also one of the few opportunities nationally to meet some of the finest, independent, contemporary artists and buy directly from them, as well as viewing a more comprehensive range from professional galleries.

Deborah said: “If you’ve never visited an art fair before, we feel sure that you will enjoy this way of choosing art for your home or office. The atmosphere is famously relaxed, friendly and informative, and the artists and galleries are very happy to discuss their work, vision and inspirations, making it the perfect environment for art enthusiasts and collectors to indulge their passion and an unmissable opportunity to discover new talent.”

Visitors can peruse fine art, photography, printmaking, textile art and sculpture, with prices ranging from £40 to £4,000.

Jelly will also run creative workshops over the weekend offering visitors the chance to learn all sorts of skills, including dry point etching, collages, and drawing with ink.

The fair runs from 10am-6pm on Saturday, April 26, and 10am-5pm on Sunday, April 27. Weekend adult tickets are £5.25 and concessions are £4.25. Visit www.readingcontemporaryartfair.co.uk
