Crowthorne Choral Society and Bracknell Choral Society have teamed up with Wellington College Scholars Choir and The Senesino Players to perform Elgar's moving piece, The Dream Of Gerontius.

The oratorio, based on Cardinal John Newman's poem about the journey of a man's soul after death, is for a mezzo-soprano, tenor, bass, full choir and orchestra.

The performance, at Reading Concert Hall on Sunday, will feature renowned soloists, tenor James Oxley, mezzo soprano Martha McLorinan and baritone Marcus Farnsworth.

Tickets to the performance, which begins at 7.30pm, cost £15 plus booking fee, with under-18s going free. Book at www.readingarts.com or call 0118 960 6060.

On Friday, April 26, Apollo5, on behalf of Bracknell Choral Society, will take part in a fundraising concert at South Hill Park in aid of Bracknell Choral Society. Call 07834 144 055 or visit website www.bracknellchoral.org.uk
