The Firestation: Benn Cody

2013 has landed and, really, has that much changed? All the bad things (economy, weather) have got worse, and the good things (entertainment, new discoveries) have got better. Only this week have we found the actual remains of Richard III, and with that in mind, we can say goodbye to 'the winter of our discontent' and look forward to what is set to be a fantastic season and even better year!

Last year showed just how high The Firestation can reach - we've had headline comedians, top class bands, incredible theatre and vibrant club nights to lightly skim over only a handful of the brilliant events we've had on offer. Well, it's a new year, so now it's time for a new and improved Firestation.

Already in the pipeline are plans for in-house work to be toured, some major outdoor events across the year, and even plans to make some pretty incredible waves in the arts sector - regrettably, I can only dangle these treats in front of you at the moment, but watch this space.

In the more immediate future, have we got a season for you. Upcoming visits include stand-up from Katherine Ryan and Lloyd Langford (with Sean Lock, Andy Parsons and Alistair McGowan now all sold out), music from Will & The People and regular rock night, Days of Last, as well as incredible theatre fresh from the Fringe.

Particular highlights to keep an eye on include Valentine's love in Jane Eyre, an incredible double-bill from the Old Vic New Voices Edinburgh Season with Chapel Street & B**ch Boxer, a punchy, gritty and stunning night of theatre; as well as international collective Theatre Re with The Gambler, and well ahead in May, the show I cannot stop telling people about, Les Enfant Terribles' The Trench - even if theatre is new to you, I urge you to try this, you will not be disappointed.

Stay up to date with everything by checking our website at www.firestationartscentre.com and kick off your year with a great night out; we've got something for everyone! We hope to see you at an event soon!
