TALENTED bands are being called on to showcase their best riffs and catchiest beats in a hotly-fought competition.
Reading Rock Academy Battle Of The Bands is returning for the fourth year, and is open to bands from around the country for the first time.
The competition has two categories, for bands with members aged under 18 and for 18-25-year-olds, with all acts performing their own, original compositions throughout the competition.
Last year's winners, Sundara Karma, won a host of prizes including studio time, and had their winning song released on Itunes.
Reading Rock Academy, a social enterprise which nurtures young musicians in Berkshire, moved to a new premises, at the Bulmershe Campus, of the University of Reading, last year, where the competition heats and final will take place.
Entries for the competition close at midnight on Saturday, March 16 and auditions will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24. The semi finals will take place in April, with the grand final in July. or entry details, visit www.readingrockacademy.com
