February is an exciting month for lovers of dance music in Reading, with some of the most exciting DJs and acts making their way to town.

Major Lazer became an instant success in 2009 with their huge club hit Pon Di Floor, and last year gained even more fans with summer favourite Get Free. The Jillionaire of Major Lazer, from Trinidad & Tobago, will be DJing for Skint Mondays at Sakura on Monday, February 11. Fans of the band will love his unique style which he has given the name 'tropical bass'!

Plan B is currently touring the UK playing sold-out arenas with his full band, including human beatboxer Faith SFX who comes to Reading on Friday, February 22. Faith SFX won the UK Beatbox Championships in 2005, has collaborated or toured with Professor Green, Paloma Faith and Bruno Mars. He will be performing a live set of his beatbox skills at Skint Mondays on Monday 25th February.

CUBED, the monthly club night at SUB89 on Friar Street, will be bringing two of the most talked about DJs at the moment to Reading on Friday, February 22: Duke Dumont and Shadow Child.

Duke Dumont was selected by Annie Mac as her 'Future Star of 2013' and his BBC Radio One Essential Mix was broadcast to great acclaim this January. Duke Dumont's tracks The Giver and Street Walker featured in a plethora of 'Best Of 2012' charts and his latest release Need You (100%) is receiving both club support and daytime radio play.

Shadow Child released some of the key club tracks of 2012 including String Thing, 23 and So High, the latter of which featured on iTunes' Dance Album Of The Year, Moda Black. His close association with Dirtybird label, his DJ Mag Best Of British nominated remixes and his upcoming remix for Disclosure are just some of the reasons he is tipped for massive success in 2013.

Also playing at CUBED on February 22 will be top local talents in the form of Eleven27, Elzar (the man behind the brilliant From Disco To Disco nights) and A.K.A. JC.
