A Maidenhead music lover is preparing to take audiences on a journey through Fleetwood Mac's seminal album, Rumours, and his research has already thrown up some surprises for you to discover at his Vinyl Frontier night.

This is the second of Jeff Lloyd's album nights, the first was Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - played in full, in classic vinyl format on a record player in the intimate studio space at Norden Farm. The Altwood Road venue will once more be the setting, but this time Fleetwood Mac's Grammy Award winning seventies album will be played tomorrow (Friday, January 18).

Financial adviser by day and DJ by night, Jeff said: "I lived in Newcastle in the early nineties.

"One of my friends from that time came down to visit in July/August last year and asked if I remembered Mr Drayton, Steve Drayton. Back in the day he was a compere and quite amusing. He used to do a regular night and my mate Tony had always noticed what he was doing around town. He does spoken word evenings and also a night called Mr Drayton's Record Player. It was the idea that I am doing now."

After getting permission from BBC Radio producer Steve Drayton, Jeff has designed his night around his and it is set to feature video footage and a history of the band, as well as playing the album.

The music for the next event is chosen by the audience at each show from a short-list compiled by Jeff, who hopes to attract everyone from music buffs to Mac fans and people looking for an alternative to a night on the town.

"We do talk about drug use and drama within the band, so it will be a bit of a sad evening. It's not a long evening. It's an hour and a half and I am moderately engaging!" he joked.

Jeff decided to put on the nights to support Norden Farm, which lost its Arts Council Funding last year, and because of his love for music - which saw him act as a judge on the Zambian Pop Idol and star on TV quiz show Mastermind.

Jeff told us it takes around three weeks to prepare for the event, swotting up on the band in the evenings. So has he been surprised by anything he has found out about the band: "Fleetwood Mac were committed to a USA tour just before Rumours came out. The band dropped out but Mick (Fleetwood, drummer) said he would go and fulfill the contact.

"They hired a band and then just before they were going to play Mick dropped out, but the band continued and so for a while there was a band (Stretch) touring as Fleetwood Mac!"

Tickets are £6 from www.nordenfarm.org or by calling 01628 788997.
