OXJAM'in: Danyl Johnson

OXJAM is preparing to takeover Reading with the sounds of the local music scene in a bid to raise £8,000 for charity.

On Saturday, October 20, music-mad Oxfam volunteers will be setting up gigs in six Reading venues - showcasing the best in emerging talent across genres.

What's more, X Factor's Danyl Johnson will help launch Oxjam Reading Takeover, at a party on Saturday, at 7.30pm at the Jazz Cafe, in Madejski Stadium alongside local folk songstress Megan Henwood. TRIBUTE night is back so get those vocal chords warmed up and prepare to belt our classics from the one and only Joni Mitchell.

Sing along to the songbird's classics and celebrate Tribute's sixth birthday on Friday next week at Rising Sun Arts Centre, in Reading.

FIVE Star are the latest addition to Henley's Rewind Festival. Featuring BBC's The Voice UK contestant Deniece Pearson, the band were hailed as Britain's answer to the Jackson Five in the 80s and now they're set to return to the stage at the three-day festival from August 17-19. FEAST your eyes on Danny Boyle's epic Olympics Opening Ceremony, The Isles Of Wonder, at Norden Farm, in Maidenhead, tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm. The screening is free and lucky visitors will get the chance to meet torchbearer Angela Cassidy and have pictures taken with the Olympic Torch.
