John Cooper Clarke to play sub89
PUNK poet extraordinaire John Cooper Clarke is bringing his way with words to Sub89, Reading, tonight night (Friday).
The Salford-born performance poet has been on the wordsmithery circuit for decades, having held his own on bills with Sex Pistols, The Fall, Joy Division, Buzzcocks, Siouxsie And The Banshees and Elvis Costello.
His machine-gun precision delivery, deadpan demeanour and knack of sprinkling gags throughout his poetry sets have won him a new legion fans, to join his legion of devotees from the 1970s and 80s.
Tickets cost £15 from www.sub89.com or buy in person from Urban Piercings, Merchants Place, Reading.
